The Problem Statement:
A household name in the building supplies business needed a better way to get their products into retailer’s channels. Their teams were spending enormous amounts of time managing spreadsheet inputs to DIY and other retailer channels, leading to inefficiencies and inconsistencies in their brand messaging and an unsustainable amount of redundancy in collection of that product data. Their teams reached out individually for every product launch for every channel, overworking both the channel teams and their product owners. Missed launch dates and products not appearing in their chosen markets were commonplace, and their Amazon presence was purely dictated by 3rd party partners.
The Solution:
TrailBreakers analyzed the channels and marketplaces the business wanted to syndicate their products to, and came up with an aggregated set of data requirements to add to their existing PIM implementation. This created a golden record of product data, including the right-sized images, so that the product messaging was on target, consistent, accurate, and complete. TrailBreakers than added modules to their existing PIM to connect to their chosen retailer partners to automate the flow of data into those channels.
The Results:
The customer saw their data collection requirements decrease do to the reduction of redundant and overlapping data collection, which improved go-to-market speed by 55%. The automation allowed them to take control of their Amazon presence, ensuring that the product representations on that channel met with branding requirements. Lastly, they were able to optimize existing product listings on channels to correct errors that otherwise would have gone unnoticed.
